Access violation I have used Xolox V1.12 for several weeks without problems. I recently started experiencing this: I get this message: Access violation at address 004Dbb86 in module 'xolox.exe'. Read of address 02990d2e After that the information in the transfer pane no longer gets updated. The Gui still works; i can switch panes or change sorting order, but the information never changes. Another problem that started appearing recently is that Xolox suddenly starts to consume 100% CPU. The program becomes unresponsive to input and cannot be terminated in the normal maner. I use Xolox v1.12, Windows 2000 SP2 |

Access Violation I get the same error. Running Windows 2000. Error seems to occur when I am not using the computer for a while and Xolox is running. If I am on the computer with Xolox running the error does not occur. I only use the blank screen screen saver, so its not a conflict with the screen saver. Possibly its that option in the program to use switch to max download when the computer is not in use for a period of time. Definitely a programming code problem. You have to restart the program to get the downloading to resume. |

access violation I also get this error. Running Win98SE. Symptoms: - occurs when Xolox left to run unattended for extended period (overnight) - transfer stats no longer get updated in transfer pane Is there a fix being worked on? Any workaround in meantime? Thanks. |

NJGuy... I get exactly the same problem as you! It's soooooo infuriating! I have good download speeds, leave the pc running whilst I go do something else or go out or whatever, and guarantee that by the time I go back to the pc, the violation error is on the screen and everything is frozen. Does anyone have a clue what this is all about please??? This is soooo wasting time downloading my faves - divx movies! Cheers! John |

Ditto Just wanted to emphasize how common this one is to XoloX users: I get it too - on all three machines where I've tried XoloX. We definitely need a bugfix. Right now, I try to avoid it by shutting down and restarting XoloX at least twice a day - during times when none of my downloads are available. -JL |

Thanks for the info, NJGuy. I noticed after I received that message that none of my downloads were downloading. I get the same message as everyone else here. I have all screensaver and powersaving features disabled. I'm also running under Win ME. I usually restart the program if I plan to leave it on overnight or during the day. Hopefully a new version with bug fixes will be out soon. |

this might work... might have a work around as I have this annoying problem... leaving the window open, or in minimise on the taskbar I get the violation error after only a short period of inactivity... but I have found that if I close XoloX by clicking on the close icon, so now XoloX is only an icon on the taskbar, the 'crash' doesn't happen, and the downloads and uploads still continue as normal. I have been doing this 2 days and it works for me. Try it! John |
