Disapearing Data

When downloading some files, when they finally reach 100%, some of them will reset to, for example 50%, and then start again from that point. Has this happened for anyone else? I have seen it happen twice, and now that I have seen it, that may explain why several others never have finished downloading. Does anyone know the cause of, or the solution to this problem? Thanks in advance.
