help with slow speed?

Can someone please tell me why my download is only going at 0.2-2 kbp when I have ethernet connection. Is there something I need to do to increase the transfer speed. I even set my upload to the max of 12 because I thought that might increase my download but it didn't. Thanks

I too access the net through an ethernet, t-1 is at the end of my connection and i get slow downloads sometimes as well rick. Your download speed does depend on your settings, so i have been told, and I would suggest for you to put your settings at Max (which is different than the twelve that you currently have selected: it is before 1kbs) if it doesnt slow down your connection too bad,

The download speed is directly related to the upload speed set by the sharer that you are downloading from. To increase speed, I typically try to download a file that has multiple "Scores" and the other reply is right as well, maybe you've just had some bad luck.
