CPU usage Well, I just tried it and so far I love everything except for it taking up 80% - 90% of my CPU usage. I'm running w2k advanced server on a 266Mhz PII with 128M ram. [edit] Well, I just restarted it and I find I don't love having to input my settings all over again either. [/edit] |
this program also uses a lot of my cpu..... 100% when downloading or uploading. but thats about like any programs that i run so it doesnt bother me too much. (by the way i have an amd k6-2@500mhz and 196 meg of ram, so i know that it isnt a "slow" processor) |
re: The only time a file sharing program ate up my comp this much was when BearShare first started hashing files.. even that was solved. |
The first time I used it , it also used a lot of my processor (Win2K p3 667), up to 100% most of the time But after a computer restart it was acceptable (?) around 30 %. But then , when trying to dl, it gave the message "can't write", and I had to re-enter the download directorys again. And I saw my IP twice as beeing connected to in the connections screen with port nrs 6346 and 1227 ( not really shure about the port nrs), but I disconnected from myself :p and it did not happen again. But overall this client looks verry prommising. Good job GodX ! |
Hmm... I will talk with godX about this! Many thanks for the reactions! :) Morgwen |
I just tried v.1.41b and it's saving my settings now, but it is still unusable as it's completely consuming my CPU. |
CPU Usage hi, I'm running PEERanha on my 266 with win2k prof. but I don't have such problems! Please test/do something for me: - turn of BS if you run PEERanha becauz BS constantly check all directorys for new or changed files! So it will eat up >90% for reading the directory again! - minimze the PEERanha window please! is the cpu consumption lower?? (please email me [email]***** If you mean PEERanha blocks your system set the priority to low! I will change a lot during the next beta's! Thx for your support! - godXBlue |
Well, the email is on it's way. To make a long story short for anyone following this thread; neither minimizing the window or adjusting the priority level helped. And it is NEVER a good idea to run two gnutella servents concurrently. |

If both are using the port 6346 you have a problem! ;) Morgwen |
