How to lock desktop icons in windows 10?

My desktop icons have been sorted by name, but they are not in alphabetical order. Is it safe if i shift them one-by-one to put them in alphabetical order?

My research suggests arranging by name should also arrange alphabetically. Arrange by name does not organise alphabetically on my Win 10 desktop, so I do not know.

Manually organising the icons, right-click the Desktop to see the View options. If you want to arrange the icons on your own, click Auto Arrange to remove the check mark. In theory, this should prevent the icons being re-arranged after startup.
