![]() I am running win98se. windows media player 9 real player 10 I have downloaded quite a few .avi's but windows media player cannot open them, claiming "class not registered". under the 'web help' tab i get linked to a microsoft page that is no longer maintained. great. i searched some forums, but none are very explicit on what seems to be the cause of this error message. some suggest it is "codecs", but does win media player not automatically download the codec? (this is what i told it to do under 'options'). others suggest that the avi file can be registered manually under the start/run function with the regsvr32 + filename command. this did not work for me. please, someone, advise me on the solution, or where to look. best, ssiemson71 |
