serious helpers needed

i need help.
since i am new to this, please DO have some patience.
i need to save my dl fles to my pc, since i am hosting a onlibe radio show in germany (thats where i am from) and naturally i need music.
so i went ahead and chose an option as where to save my music in. i even created a new folder.
i got a testsong and saved it in my new created folder and i could see it. yes. victory. however, when i clicked on it, winamp didn't play it. the file transferred empty. bummer.
i really need some serious help.
can anyone walk me through this and if possible via msn messenger?
i would appreciate this so very much.
