I found the best way to take it is to shut the damn firewall OFF. Works for me.

I can't connect despite following setup in regard to ports, etc. I have Windows XP

I agree just turn it off and If I'm correct I believe it only blocks connections one way, outward not inward.

Oddly enough all my internet programs are added as exceptions on the Windows Firewall. But, since installing it, i don't get hacked ... as much.

[COLOR=dark-blue]I have McAfee Personal Firewall, which is wonderful, no "in loco parentis" behavior. McAfee advises turning off SP2, and even has a neat little demo on how to do this.

It seems a little silly to dl & install something which doesn't play nicely with the rest of the software, then have to turn it off. So I never installed it. So far I haven't been successfully hacked. McAfee is set to "tight security", and limewire gets through, np. [/COLOR]

get this, My computer wont let me shut off the dam thing! I wanna scream! I cant use Limewire cause it wont connect!!!
