i have download different programs and i have one that i like (talking about downloaded copywriten files is NOT allowed...sorry) but when i put my dvd+r disc in it says it is not a writeable disc!!!!! I just bought these and i need help.

It says in the help menu that it should pick up any type of cd writable disc and dvd-r and dvd+r are a couple of them

it says it is a data burning dvd is does that make a difference?

dvd- & dvd+ are like vhs & sony's beta. They're roughly equivalent. But not all devices can play or burn both formats. You need a dvd burner that can burn dvd+ if you have a dvd+ media disk. 1st you need to know what peripheral devices you have!!! Make sure you know what type of burner you have. Find out it's brand, model, & google it/search the brand's website for it to learn what it can do. Although cd's & dvd's look identical, they're definitely not!!! Obviously your cd player cannot play dvd's right! Same for a cd burner. Also not all dvd players can play dvd+ format. DVD+ format was only created 2 & half yrs ago.
