Burining DVD's i have read all the post's pertaining to burning video/music file, if not all the most, and am still running into problems. everytime i try to move the files it comes up that it can't find any compatible files. what can i do to make them compatible? |
Well, to make a DVD viewable in your DVD player (not comp), you have to use mpeg files. If you are trying to make a DVD out of .avi (for example) you will first need to convert these to .mpeg (this will probably take some time) and then put them in the DVD and burn the whole thing. Aah, I think it's ursla that posted at some time a link that had a video-CD making guide but... Try googling up something. |
Ok, just found the link in the thread right below, posted by LOTR: http://www.videohelp.com/ |
i probably should have posted this before but these files are MPEG Video files, and everything that i find converts to MPEG Video files, for whatever reason i cant get these files up when i try to burn them |
They could be mpeg1/4 files. Mpeg 1 is used for VCD, mpeg2 for svcd & dvd, mpeg4 can be used for vcd (I think, I've never tried.) However the other day I dropped a divx-avi file into Roxio Toast (mac) & it had no probs recognising it to burn. (divx is equivalent to mpeg4.) Are you able to play these files on your computer? If not, you're either missing codecs to play/convert/burn or the file's corrupt. Else, the file was converted in an odd way - thus needing a particular codec else it's as good as corrupt. Roxio also offer CD/DVD Creator for windows which I would go as far to say is better than Nero (I've tried both.) This app will convert to the necessary format if it's in avi/mpeg, etc. |
