Default Outlook Express Sounds

I challenge anyone on this subject, w/o telling me to reinstall Outlook Express or windows!!

I have all the updates and the latest version of OE. 6.0 When receiving mail, I don’t here the “New Mail Notification” sound. Everything is checked off in the right places. Tools/Options/”Play sound when mail arrives” In “Sound and Device properties” the setting is “New Mail Notification is set to “notify.wave” and when previewing it, it plays the sound. Just not when receiving mail.

The challenge is on.

Thank you in advance.
