I need help please. I posted a question Saturday then Sunday the pc was out of action and have logged on now and I can not find my question anywhere. My question was when I download a movie from here what do I need to get to put it on a dvd disc? I am new to this and want to get it right.

Hi Margie you're from my neck of the woods. I also can't find your post. I'd suggest a moderator must have deleted it b/c it contained info re: dwnlding copyright material which for legal reasons is not allowed to be spoken about on the forum. By the way when you dwnld via LW, you are dwnlding from other people (just like yourself) not from a website. That's why it's called p2p (peer to peer) b/c people share files.

Your question is becoming very popular on this forum. If you look around in the Tips & Trick section you'll see what I mean.

Without knowing which operating system (OS) you use it's very difficult to answer your question. Each one uses different techniques & softw's.

Hello, I have just a normal cd burner. My OS is XP. I am sorry I am not very technical about these things and maybe it would be too hard for you to help me with my lack of knowledge.

Without a DVD burner you can´t burn DVDs. What you can do is to burn a VCD or SVCD (SVCDs have better quality), newer DVD players support these formats look in your manual.

The best burning software is Nero. With Nero you can easily burn VDCs and SVCDs This program isn´t free but if you ask me its the money worth. Here you can find a free (full working) demo:

Hi,

Thanks for your help but my problems are even above my head. I had to format xp a few months ago due to problems and in the end i could not format the pc so i just reloaded xp, then I lost nero and can not get it back so the burner is using media player at the moment. I will attempt to find the original nero disc which came with the burner and load it again. I really am a novice when it comes to these things now, every day so many new things come out and it seems if you miss one you end up lost which is where I am at. If I ever get it figured out I will post a happy end to my story. Once again thanks.
