Thanks I do have the new PC but I can only see the desktop with no icons on it and the Media Player doesn't show up on it either !

I have tried and tried and don't think it's possable to copy a dvd to watch on the TV. All I get when I DL a movie is a player Icon and noe files.

It sounds like the issue of which app opens which file format.
It's a shareware that I think's valid for 20-25 days but: TMPG has many things ging for it.

What's your complete set up with conversion & burn apps.?

Thanks for your patience . I can open almost all formats but when I DL a movie all I get is the Player Icon ie: Flash, Windows Movie Maker, Quicktime etc. No files to copy and this will play on my PC.
I can copy DVD , CD and I can also copy dual layer dual format DVD's. I don't seem to get any files to copy .

I found out I was converting just the audio files. I did get it to work on my dvd/tv and all got was a video and no sound. Anybody got any ideas or a program I can buy ?

For windows not really. MPeg2 files are muxed during the conversion process where the audio & video are combined into the one file. I've come across a movie or 2 from the net which didn't have sound. Duh! Somebody who didn't know what they were doing.
Sorry as a mac user I'm not sure about all the apps for windows. I would highly recommend you post on either or both the video & dvd forums that belong to the links given at the beginning of this thread.
