Accessing files Retrieved as Available Search files retrieve music files shown as: Quality # Name Type Size Speed 25 wmv 114.6KB T1 However, after I've downloaded files and I attempt to play songs using WMP all that comes up is a picture video of Apple Ipod. Can I play these songs using WMP and if so, how do I reteive these files to listen to them using WMP? Last edited by kammaze; January 27th, 2005 at 05:02 AM. |

You should recognise by the size of the file that it's not the correct size for an mp3! Any mp3 below 2 MB should be treated with suspicion of poor quality or worse! Yes T1 is known for spamming with advertisements duplicating every search you do. Just ignore them, or filter them out. T3 connections are known for corrupt files. I stress though, this does NOT apply to all T1 & T3 sources. See: 1. T3 Spammers & make a note about the file size V's bit-rate (bit-rate = quality) 2. Quality of Content on the Network 3. Fake Movies & Why! To filter out results you can go to your LW menu Tools>Options>Filters>Keyword & type in the word .wmv & press the Add button. You can also add .jpg & press the Add button & then press the Apply button. Filters can be easily added or removed anytime depending on what you'e searching for so long as you make sure you press the Apply button. Oh this is if you're using Limewire of course. Bit-rates for mp3 or 4 (m4a) vary between 32 to 320 kbps. The best is 320. But anything from 192 or higher is very good. 128 to 180 is reasonable. Below 120 is not so good!
