It is possible to put in your drive from your old PC into your new PC as a second slave drive but, in my experience, you will be prone to less problems if your second drive is the same make and model as your main "C" drive on your new PC.

If your old PC is not that old, and the hard disk is in very good condition, then installing it into your new PC as a "D" drive may not be problematic.

However, you may be better off copying (burning) your music onto a CD/R and then recopying it onto your new PC.

you can buy an external usb 2.0 hard drive kit that plugs all together and gives you a nice looking case. it plugs into your usb port and you can use it like a regular harddrive, but the cool part is if you go to your friend's house or somewhere that they want the files, you can unplug everything and go to whereever.

plus like if you have an emergency like your house is on fire or a hurricane is coming, you can make regular backups onto that hard drive then grab it when you need to go.

i agree with the previous statement about making your old one a slave, or you could just install the new one as a slave to save you time reinstalling windows xp.

You should have no problems installing this drive as a "D" drive then.

Just remember to delete windows, the swap file, temp directory, etc. once the disk is installed.
