DivX avi files

Yup Guys first time using this forum so any help is appreciated! I've downloaded some mpg files and burned them with Nero no problem. There are a few files I'm after, but they are in Divx or avi or say dvdrip in the file name, my question is, if I download some of these files am i going to be able to burn them with Nero? Because I can't preview them when I start downloading them, wot do ya's reckon

I'm pretty sure you can burn .avi files. As for the DivX, you'll need a DivX codec so you can watch your file. Check out this site http://www.divx.com/ and download the free program. You will see that the program has a movie player in it but you don't need to watch your files with it. Just installing the program will automatically convert your DivX files into a playable format. If you need anymore help let me know. I may be able to help further.

I am new here too. I am having the same problem. I have downloaded a movie with avi and am unable to burn it onto a DVD using Nero. Is there a trick to getting it burned? If so, I need to know. Any help would be appreciated.

I've never burnt DVD's before but from what I've heard it's the same process as burning CD's.
