You have to give us a little information! How many songs? Is this a percentage of songs? what are you playing them through? How long has this been going on? etc! How long have you been using LW Are you using LW? (Limewire) Personally, I cannot believe this is happenning unless the song file (What type) has been made wrong. Please read the forum rules which give help about how to word a question. fwiw ... Ohers have had the same problem and as yet I can find no answer. Give us some details and we shall see if we can help. |

Mee tooo! I have this same problem, I am a brand new user, I downloaded 2 songs successfully and played them through LW and they play back at an excellerated rate. I tried playing them throu Media Play too and they still played too fast. I have not a clue of what the issue or the fix is. My friend has LW and his is fine. We have the same DSL connection speed and we both download T1, T3 or higher. Does anyone have a solution? |

I am still convinced that this is no fault with Limewire. I Think these could be faulty files (possibly delibrately planted on the Network). I'm guessing that you are downloading modern popular tracks. I suggest searching for something from 20 years ago or so. select a file which has only 2 or 3 hosts at most. modem or Cable/DSL would be fine.... Modem hosts I tend to find are more careful about what they put out, and see how that works. Just don't get anything by the Chipmunks Out of interest, If you listen to these fast songs, do they play all the way through or do they repeat every 20-30 reconds over and over? Let us know how you get on. |

Race girl I think you may have found the problem. I'm no windows expert, but It sounds like some sort of sound card problem possibly. Someone might have the answer here ... but otherwise you may have to look a little further afield for an answer. |

Excellerated playback Well, they do play all the way through and some of the songs are 10 years back. I don't think it is LW at all, when I launched yahoo music, it also played at an excelerated rate. It has something to do w/ audio device or the audio config - I just don't know what. I replaced my hard drive and had to re-install OS and all that stuff. Before the the HD died, I had no problem w/ audio. Maybe drivers??? I'm just not that HD saavy. Any hardware suggestions? Thanks, L |

Damaged Codecs Damaged codecs. Codecs are software programs that compress and uncompress audio or video data. Damaged codecs can cause problems such as missing audio or video, unusually fast or slow playback, or distortion in the video (such as lines). This may be the issue, but don't know abou the fix |

Found the fix I had the same problem, everything played back too fast, no matter what I used to play it back with. Here's the fix -- I uninstalled the audio card, re-installed and then re-installed the drivers. I have a dell, so it was easy. I went to the Dell website typed in my model of pc and dowloaded the drivers for my system. No my audio play back is "normal"! Hope this helps. |
