Have you used iTunes 6 before & not had the same problem?? I honestly don't know how you have .wma files there, because the 'import using' thing that I mentioned before applies to what you rip as well!

Bear with me for a little while, while I change to iTunes 7 & then rip a CD & see whether I can get .wma as an option.

What OS are you using?

AAC's one of the iTunes supported formats but I'm stumped with the wma. As you can see, it's not even an option for me & AFAIK it never was.

Nope, there's no wma option in my iTunes 7 either (version 7.0.1.8).

Can you take a screenshot of your files showing wma as the format (blank out file names for copyright reasons)?

Are you sure that you're not confusing wma with wav as a format?

Glad you got it sorted out

I don't mean to confuse you, but just remember that if you want to put files onto an iPod, you won't be able to transfer the songs that are in the 'shared limewire tunes' list. That's just a playlist. All that 'shared limewire tunes' is good for, is listening to the songs

And choose mp3's to download, not wma files. Many people put .wma in their word filter.

Check your files. When I updated to version 7 of itunes I found it was incompatible with previous libraries, and it no longer works with Limewire.)
You may have a file that contains your old library, as well as the new one.
You can probably copy the missing songs over manually. (You may need to reformat them first.)

If you have a version of itunes that still works with Limewire DO NOT UPGRADE. Versions 6 or earlier work fine. Set your itunes to not allow
automatic updates.

If you already installed version 7 or higher it's to late.

You can downgrade to an earlier iTunes & keep the songs in your library. There are instructions for Mac & Win XP in this post: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/tips-t...tml#post327806

I don't use Vista, but I guess it would be possible to use the XP instructions (not sure if the 'my music' folder is in the same place with Vista)

No... you can download files for free.
If you're having trouble transferring songs to iPod or iTunes, check post #2 of this thread for info.
