License required to play file. I downloaded files that won't play in WMA. Says I need a license to play the file. When I try to get a license it tells me I don't have the plug ins required. Anybody know how I can make these files work? |
If any file asks you for a licence to play it when you try to play it with a player, then ignore it & get rid of it. It may even try to connect you with diallers. See What you should know about WMA Files Other audio formats are safer: mp3, m4a, ogg, etc. I'd recommend getting a decent player with in-built codecs such as one of these: 1. dBpowerAMP, 2. WinAmp, - 3. Quintessential (QCD), - 4. iTunes * Good tagging tools: http://massid3lib.sourceforge.net/ |

Have you tried opening/viewing/listening to the file in Media Player Classic or VLC? Do a google "I'm feeling lucky" search for them. They may be able to open the wma file without the license....but yea, generally just stay away from them... |
