Default Spouting off about SONY!

Hi there folks,

It's been a while since I've been here. We had a gal named Wilma who blew through my city, knocking out the electricity, phone, and thus my precious internet. Our house is still standing and I'm grateful, so grateful.

The first thing I ran into on the net was this garbage about SONY's rootkit. I sent a letter to p2pnet asking some advice about an application that is supposed to circumvent the thing. One thing led to another, so rather than go into it all here, thought you might be interested in reading this:

You'll recognize me!

That's a great link! Thanks for posting it. I remember reading something about Sony's rootkit. I can't remember where. But there's another thread which discusses rootkits ... without re-reading it(sorry that time of night for me) I'll leave a link. Rootkits *** WARNING *** & re: DRM see What you should know about WMA/WMV Files

So RIAA & MPAA have certainly been busy over the past 12 mths. The gnutella network has felt & seen it. Plenty of threads that describe their efforts. Spam (& possibly viruses) for one. Bugger off AH's. Talk about a multi-edged sword!

I guess I shouldn't ask the obvious question about identitities.

And re: backdoor research see Organisations trying to connect via Port 6346
