hi i'm new to this and everytime i go to play something it goes to realplayer and doesn't play. what do i do please

Could you give us a little more info? What are you trying to play, movies or songs?

If you're playing .avi's then you might need the divx codec. You can download it from www.divx.com for free! You'll want the one in the middle.
