Re;p2pnetworm recently I had downloaded another p2p file sharing program(in which I won't name here) and was on the net about 2 hours when my curser started acting up and the machine started freezing up. My responce was to run Ad-Aware SE.This software said that it was a p2p worm and had it quarintined and deleted. one hour later,it crashed. After I rebooted and did a quick disk clean up everything seemed to get back to normal. But the next day(yesterday)I was installing an external drive, when I hit system restore the varmit came back, this time it took out my internet connection. All I can say is becareful what you down load........thanx Mad Hatter (796) |

Keep your downlds to files above 1 MB (1,000 KB) & that will at least keep you above the majority of pokses on the net. Not all, but at least above those that are looking for the newbie ignorants to stop their enthusiasm for using p2p. |

When you did the system restore you re installed the virus you need to turn system restore off and do another virus and spyware scan. Get rid of the virus then turn system restore back on. You will loose all of your restore points but it doesn't really matter they are infected anyway. |

AVG is atleast number 2 on the best anti-virus applications out there. I hardly give any software a number 1 because there is always room for improvment. |

I admit that the comparison chart was a bit slim, but I really tried searching for something useful, and that was the best I could find. I did write them an email telling them that a lot of useful information was missing from that test. cpu load, and how the heuristic scan worked when updated, also when there were other programs running as well. I actually got a non-automated response back the next day, saying that the email had been forwarded to the editorial staff, which worked on making changes to the magazine, but I should not expect any more responses since they were very busy. (or do not want to write a reply telling me how much they were paid to rank some higher than others) I just got a copy of one of the commersial virusprograms that I am going to test out ib the near future. Maybe there's some truth to it. Just maybe Last edited by Sleepless; February 14th, 2006 at 09:28 PM. |

Regarding your protected file DKSK try this tool Unlocker If that doesn't work. then try reading this http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=41432 with alot of other links in it. Disregard the first post since it has nothing to do with your problem, but some things in my answers will maybe help. Especially the things about the Command promth in both the first and second reply, if the unlocker doesn't work Also registry cleaners are very useful when tryind to get rid of stuff also the link I posted to a tread LOTR gathered might give you answers There is no need for you to go visit Daniweb since you don't post in detail. The only thing you will achieve is getting banned or no answer Last edited by Sleepless; February 14th, 2006 at 09:30 PM. |

It is closed so I can't ask for help from him. LOTR's doesn't have any problem I have posted there. Ok let my stat my problem better. Things I have scanned my computer with- Ad-ware SE Plus Mcaffe AVG My Ad-ware SE Plus always finds spyware almost everyday thats nothing new and nothing to really worry about. I scan on Mcaffe and AVG to remove this so called virus I have. It finds a virus or some type of infection. But it just simply wont delete it. I have tryed scanning it in safe mode in attempt to delete the infection but I wont find it in safe mode. |
