Default AVI , How do i preview or watch the video file

Hi E1,
If I download a video file in AVI format how do I preview it or watch it , my WMP doesnt allow it to be viewed.

10 views already and not even one reply , are you all coming to have a laugh , can at least someone reply ( after laughing at my unfortunate minimal amount of knowledge on this avi mpg format thing?

Your probably missing the right codecs for it to play properly.
XP Codec Pack 1.3.0 Is a good one for Windows media player. Be sure to install it if you d/l it.

You may want to try playing it in a different media player.
VLC media player is a good one that has the codecs built in and will play most types of files.

Could be it's a bad file. Bitzi Web Lookup is a way to help sort out which files are good or not.

I tried downloading lots of codecs & even a few new players (Hyplay etc), but eventually went back to Real Player.
www.realplayer.com
When I d/l it even told me what it needed to use to play avi.

Default Trying to burn avi files ???

Okay , im back , after waiting for the download to finish ( I`ve downloaded my favourite old tv series ( Lost in Space ) , I am able to view it in the VLC media player however I am unable to burn it to dvd using my nero .
Can anyone help me ?

I suggest the K-Lite Codec Pack. It comes bundled with BS player and WMP classic and can be found on the Gnutella network.
