Help please! A Vodei problem!!!!!

This is the most annoying thing ever!
A lot of videos I've downloaded in the past few days have given me this message: Vodei MP 2 or newer required to play etc...

Anyway : I downloaded it from Vodei.com 'and it was working fine for a while 'although some of the movie's still would not play, and it even says on the website that you don't have to register in order to use it, a short while later it stopped and demanded me to register (PAY) ha ha ha
So! I browsed some forums and I've seen a lot of people say it is a scam, but some have said that you simply have to download it from the correct site and it works fine.
I also saw people giving links to other programs that let you kind-of hack into the movie and change some settings or letters or what-ever, but that takes too much time, especially for just previewing a file, and then there's a way to convert the video with some other software, which is even harder again.

So can someone please tell me where to get Vodei or even something else that will do the job, because most of the video's did work.

I have not come across such a video. If a video does not play with VLC player I would not trust it. Simple as that.
BTW VLC prevents any video sending you to a questionable logger website.

It doesn't send me to any site 'it just comes up at the start of the video, and it also happens using the VLC player.
I don't really want to delete them either at least till I see what they look like.
These Vodei guys are bloody pricks, I heard a rumor that they hack into the Codec of the torrents and change it to Vodei format

There's a modified version of it which isn't part of the scam set up by some random guys, but I yet have to find it, the page with the setup details is over 3 years old so it's outdated.

It's strange that you've never come across it considerring it's around so long and there's no way of telling if the download is going to have it or not.

All I know right now is! I REALLY REALLY HATE VODEI...

I found a link on another forum for this tool called Vodecoder http://vodecoder.videoripper.org/

It removes Codec that Vodei put on it, and it only takes about 30 seconds, then the video is back to normall.

The only problem is that it can only Unincrypt the files that show the screen with the red movie theatre, chairs etc...
but most movies you'l find will have the red 1.

It's very easy to do

1.Download this ZIP : http://vodecoder.videoripper.org/vodecoder.zip
and save it to your harddrive, DON'T use open in the downloaddialog
2.Go to the save location and extract all the files
The extracted files should be:
devodei_r21.zip
VoDecoder.exe
VoDecoder.htm
VodeiKeys.txt
VodeiKeys.vdk
3.Double click "VoDecoder.exe" to run the program
4.Press "No" at the warning
5Select "Option"->"Import keyfile" or press F6 on your keyboard
6.Select the "Vodeikeys.vdk" file that was included in, and extracted from, the ZIP
7.A message will tell you it sucessfully imported 2 keys

When you get to step 6 you may not see any option to select "VodeiKeys.vdk".
It's simple to fix, just drag it from it's source into the documents folder which contains the selectable files, and repeat step 6.

And that's it you can give Vodei the middle finger... All thanks to a guy called Peter.

And most importantly! You don't need Vodei to do this 'so don't download it 'because it's evil...
