Cant play some video files yeah, im trying to download a video file and when i press prievew or launch it WMP says, one or more codecs needed to play file..i mean WTF?! theres also another one that says, WMP cannot play the file. the player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file....anyone know how to fix this? i need help plzorz |
We normally recommend VLC - (click on link) _ (choose nearest mirror site) player here as it has in-built codecs & is generally very reliable. Else if you insist on using wmp then see CODECs list and alternate players for Movies Also see Setting Default video app |
I'd like to build on that comment about the VLC player. I have vidoe files that were not in MP4 format from limewire, so i used videora ipod converter to convert them. now they are converted to mp4, but VLC has the needed codecs for them to play. They won't transfer into itunes because of the codecs. LOTR, is there a way to then save the files using VLC's codecs so that i can put them on my ipod? |
Videora is "supposed" to be able to adapt the files to be able to be imprted to the iPod. If not, then use 3G I think it's called; see this section here including links to videora's forum: How to transfer to my iPod (& iTunes) - for video BTW Im not aware of VLC being used to convert & resave files. |
just for a little S&G i tried converting one of the files again. it converted just the same as last time and then when i went to put it on the ipod it went on without a hitch. now i'm a little confused, but i really don't care cause it worked. |
lmao :D Good to hear anyway! Thanks for letting us know. ;) |
