AVI (codec) download issues Hi, sorry ive tried a search but nothing has sprung up. Im trying to download a few avi. files and normally this works but for some reason its not this time. I keep getting C00D1199 error on windows media player along with; Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file. What does this mean? Ive tried to use my little pea brain and sort out the problem but it still wont work and i really havent a clue how to sort it! I really want to download these vids aswell. Can anyone help? Thanks!! |

AVI Codec Aerbabe I found out recently that I have an AVI codec problem as well, so just today I have downloaded AVICodecPackPlus21.exe and AVICodecPackLite3.exe from: http://www.avicodecpack.com/ I have not installed them yet (I'll probably go LITE first) so don't know if they will solve my problem but you could give one of them a try. ive downloaded divx and the avicodecpack but still it wont work. The movie starts then the screen freezes but the sound continues. Is there something i need to do with the above downloads to make them work? Or is there something else i still need to download to get these files working? |

Try the free VLC media player, which comes with built in codecs and can play almost all files without any problem.....: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ If that player can play the file then you have most likely a corrupted file. Alternatively you can download the k-lite codecs pack which includes the G-Spot progam. This will be able to show you what codec this specific file used for encoding and also whether you have the codecs installed on your system or not. It also has the Media Player Classic included, which I believe is the second best player right after the VLC-player: http://www.k-litecodecpack.com/
