Smile Avi File Is About 6gb(2hours Movie) How Do I Get It To Fit Into The 4.7 Dvd-r

IM TOTALLY NEW TO THIS SO PLEASE EXCUSE ME IF THIS HS BEEN POSTED PRIOR. I DOWNLOADED A AVI VDEO FILE(MOVIE). iM TRYING TO BURN IT TO A DVD 4.7 GB. THE AVI FILE IS ABOUT 6GB(2HOURS MOVIE) HOW DO I GET IT TO FIT INTO THE 4.7 DVD-R ONE SIDED. I HAVE NERO. I HAVE BURNED OTHER AVI FILES BUT WERE SMALL ENOUGH TO FIT.

When you add the file to Nero there should be a screen that pops up that ash if you want to reduce the size to fit the media.

You won't get a 6GB file onto a 4.7 GB DVD. You'll have to split the file and burn it onto two DVDs.
But I'm curious,......which movie turns out to be 6GB??
Don't post the name here, PM me instead.
Besides, if you got the 6GB after converting it with "Super-High-Best" quality then of course it can be that the file size turns out to be that huge.....

i DID CHECK YES ON NERO BUT AFTER IT WENT THROUGH THE ANSWER WAS THAT IT WAS TOO BIG TO RESIZE AFTER ALL. HOW DO I SPLIT INTO TWO? DOES IT DO IT AUTOMATICALLY(STOP AND LET ME INSERT ANOTHER dvd?) oH YEA i ALSO WANTED TO ASK HOW DO I GET MY MOVIE TO BURN SO IT FITS A NORMAL SCREEN INSTEAD OF WIDESCREEN. BY THE WAY YOU GUYS ARE EXTREMELY HELPFUL

I reckon you reconvert the file using the Super converter (free to download from here):
http://www.erightsoft.net/S5E01.html
This converter offers also the feature to resize.....

To change the aspect ratio go to the bottom of the Nero page and select more then video options.

Default I now have the super converter but dont know how to use.

I got an AVI file that needs to be cpmressed to fit a dvd-so that it plays on regular dvd I also need to go from widescreen to regular. HELP!!!!

Change the Aspect ratio as sugested above.

Default which aspect ratio do i use

ok i changed the aspect ratio tp 16:9 is this correct. Also whern i tried burning nero said i could only save it to image recorder becuase it was too big. How do i split into 2 dvd?
