Subtitles Hi guys, I have had a look through the forum, but can't find a clear answer to my problem. I have a few movies that are foreign and that need subtitles. I usually use windows media player to watch the films, but can't seem to get subititles. I have just downloaded VLC media player, but still cant get the subtitles up. Do i need to download a seperate srt file for each movie and then play it through VLC? I have also obtained some films which have unwanted subtitles, is it possible to disable the function in this case? Thanks a heap |
Under the Video menu of VLC you will find Subtitle options if they exist in the video file you have. That's all I know. Though there are subtitle options in preferences. |
Thanks lord, I have looked at the video menu, and cant see a subtitle option there. I also had a fiddle with the preferences but to no avail. Any further advice would be great. |
Do you mean VLC didn't have a sub-menu for it or the option for this particular video was not available. Chances are it was re-encoded without the subtitles. You could always go to the VLC forums & inquire about it. Just be careful not to mention anything copyright such as like the rules we have here. Also search the topic before posting. They are much stricter about that issue & won't answer if it's been answered previously. ;) :) http://forum.videolan.org/ |
The option in VLC was not available for that particular file. Thanks a heap for the link and your help |
This might be of some help. Not something I have done myself :) http://www.moviecodec.com/topics/5605p1.html |
