Default New Problem with burning...

My computer, which runs windows XP, has a program called media center, and is suppose to allow me to burn movies to DVD's, bu for some reason I cant. I drag and drop the movie to the my programs file and then I access that file in the media center, but it always says it is unable to write to the DVD because it is "not a supported file type". It is an avi file, and so are most movies. Can anyone please help me?

A little off-topic here. But to import & play videos in iTunes they need to be mpeg 4 or H.264 which is simply a further developed version of mpeg 4. To play videos, double-click video file or else, select & press play. You will find videos in main library, or if you have iTunes 7 you will find them in the video list just below the music library list. So be sure you add mpeg 4 videos to iTunes, not any other type (not mpeg 1 or 2 either.) (Further off topic, I've found H.264 to be a very effective format to convert videos to. Even much more effective than divx in regards to size & quality. No wonder they were considering using this format for the new high definition dvd's instead of mpeg2 that's used on dvd's now.)

Did you try TMPGEnc? Did you click on the link in my post & check out what it can do .... ? It can convert a lot of formats. It can also burn to disk. The main functions are trialware only however.
