Connecting Two Files Together Hi Everyone Does anyone know of a good program (free if possible) that can connect two video files, such as in .avi format or VOB file format, into one continuous file. |

If the files are exactly the same try Pecks Power Join for .avi (like in 1of2 & 2of2 or files that you made yourself with the exact same settings.) http://www.digital-digest.com/ For .vob files I'm not really sure what editing software is good If you want some really good free all round software for editing .avi try VirtualDubMOD. It's really good and gives you lots of advanced features. It's also very complicated Use Google to find it and guides for it, if you're interested Last edited by Sleepless; November 4th, 2006 at 02:06 PM. |

LOTR what do i use to demux vob. You see, I'm (trying to) using Shrinkto5 to make a digital copy of my movies but this program spits the video in VOB format and in two half. so, I need to connect the pieces and convert the file to .avi format using a program like Super c for example. Is there a better way to get to the end result here? I'm using windows btw. Last edited by LWnut; November 4th, 2006 at 05:56 PM. |

OH how about that, there's a windows version also. I think it started out as a mac program. MPeg Streamclip http://www.squared5.com/ It will open VOB files directly & you can edit or join them as you please. You can also export to most formats depending upon which codecs you have installed I think. ie: after extracting the video from Disk, you should use MPeg Streamclip, not shrink it 1st or else you are dropping quality of video without any need to. One method would be to export to quicktime video (uncompressed lossless video) & then use DivX to reduce to whatever size desired. |
