compatible RAM How do I know if RAM is compatible with a 2002 Gateway? I have two pads here from a slightly older hommade PC, ValueRAM CE KVR-PC-133/128-R 74061704042 Kingston HYM7V65801 BTFG-10S AA-A Hyundai PC100-322-620 So someone talk to me like Im four, tell me what that gibberish means and how to read a strip of RAM ? Id like to have that knowledge...also, the fastest way to view a comuter's "stats", i.e. the motherboard type, speed, RAM, et al. on an xp system...no offense friends but I'm a Mac guynow that they've reinvented themselves so I lose patience with windows! |
I'm not an expert, but I believe at least on a mac computer it is possible to combine the pc133 & pc100 ram chips, but they would operate at the speed of the pc100 (the slower one.) I was told this by a mac tech. Brand is not necessarily important so long as they have the same pins & electrical needs. But in your scenario I'm not sure. Just thought I'd add what I know. |
thanx im only saying im used to using macs...i asked how to tell if this ram would be compatible in a gateway |
