compatible RAM how do I know if my [Hyundai 64Mb PC100 SDRAM Memory Module (TC-10S)] and [KINGSTON KVR-PC133/128-R 128MB SDRAM PC133] RAM pads from my old computer are compatible with the newer Gateway we have? |
compatible is relative... even if they will fit into the DIMM slots, they are pretty much worthless as their speeds are way under what a modern machine will be able to use... as a fact, if you put them in your machine (assuming compatibility) all of your memory (the one already in the box included) will operate @ the pc100's speed, which is 100MHz....sloooooooooooow.... what you really need to do is to buy RAM that is compatible with the present RAM in said machine... |
