Default Nero 7

I have tried to reduce the file in Nero so that it fits onto a DVD-R 4.7 120min disci.e. it's 49 somthing over the size of the disc, Nero then asks if I would like to reduce the size so it fits but it says that it is unable to fit it on, anyone got any ideas??
please reply b4 I rip out the rest of my hair!!!
Thanks Lammar1

Did you choose the fit to disk option? Also see http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showthread.php?t=64458
There's options for custom settings, but unless you have some experience & knowledge of what setting will result in what size it's best to leave it up to Nero.

I had a similar problem with a movie I wanted to burn with Nero....Nero resized it and all, but I still got the error message after the transcoding that there was not enough room on the disc, I tried 3 times and tried 3 different discs and I still couldn't get it to work...

I ended up giving up and I used dvdsanta and it converted and burnt fine..

consider this: Dual Layer discs are fairly cheap these days...and will get cheaper...of course you need a burner that will burn a DL disc...I've found Nero's compression algorithm to suck in that when you only need to reduce the size by a little margin to fit on a disc, Nero still compresses the hell out of the file to make it fit..it would be nice if it automatically adjusted things to barely fit on the destination disc as opposed from going straight from normal mode to long play mode...
