![]() I purchased LW Pro to download some music and browse the porn files for anything interesting. I type in some searches, picked some to download and left for a few hours. When I came back I had 1 or 2 that I actually expected and was blown away by a majority that was definitely not what was on the title. So I'm trying to figure out how to delete these files so I don't end up cracking rocks in Leavenworth! I also noticed that when I returned people were uploading these files off of my computer! I have figured out how to stop the uploading. What are the ramifications here? I've heard recently of different government agencies trolling the P2P networks. Is this true and am I at risk of getting in trouble for this junk and people uploading stuff? I'm definitely not a "techie" kind of person so what is the proper way of getting these files off of my hard drive so this doesn't become an issue if I have black helicopters hovering over my house? I don't have the start-up discs for the computer anymore. Hopefully someone can help me with this mess. GRRRR!!! |

![]() Black helicopters, huh ? Anyway, first we need a bit more info from you... What Operating System are you using and what version number ? Don't worry, you'll be able to delete what you want... And, have a search around these forums for tips and advice re: the same question from others... Last for now, do not blame LimeWire, or any other p2p 'client' for mislabeled file content... It's the jerks and dummies out there who are our fellow p2p nuts who are responsible ! And, it is always best practice to NOT share your downloads folder (or partial downloaded files) - for the obvious reason that you have no idea what you're sharing until you have 'vetted' the file ! c u

![]() Hi Ursula, I just realized my computer is ancient...maybe I should junk this one...lol...that would solve my problem. Windows XP Pro Version 2002 SP2 1.50 GHz 256 RAM. LW 4.12.11 Talked to my friend who does software support blah blah and he says I'm screwed. Something about LW or Gnutella having some collaboration with the Dept of Justice that tags keywords and sends the search keywords and IP address to the Feds and they try to upload to see if you're sharing, do a follow-up, take your equip, etc. Lovely...I'm renewing my Playboy subscription c/o Leavenworth Penitentiary ![]() |
