hmmm...you know, I am currently having the same issue with Nero7 on this particular install of my OS...I have a dual boot system so I've solved it by simply using my other OS, where Nero7 is working just fine..

my other OS is exactly the same as this...XP media center edition..except for the fact I haven't installed SP3 on it yet...but I don't think that's the problem, as I'm pretty sure this existed before I did the install of SP3...I think, note the use of the word think, that it may have to do with how I installed the Klite codec pac...I'm thinking that it might have to do with either the newer version on this install, or possibly the fact that I notice the ffdshow converter icon pops up in my task bar when I'm transcoding....

I'll try and repost when I sort this out..as noted I have been just simply booting into my now secondary OS to deal with this setch...

yep.....that was it in some way...at least the inclusion of the klite codec pac...I just uninstalled it completely, then opened up Nero, loaded a movie to transcode and took the time to watch the preview window that pops up before the option to burn comes into play...it has sound...so in my case I know for a fact that something about the klite codecs are hosing it...at this point I think its the ffdshow option...

I am also experiancing some strange behavior recently. Maybe about the last 5 to 10 AVI Files have been out of sync. Audio/Video. Audio is about 3 to 5 seconds behind Video. They seem OK during Preview, but after Converting and Burning Unfortunantly is when I discover this. Is there a program or something I can do to prevent this Before the Long process of Converting/Burning?? I have used AVS Media for over a year now and have never had any problems. I am wasting a LOT of Time and Money that I don't have to spare.
Thanks in Advance

Why not trial out with DVD-RW "if" your dvd player supports that format? Good for testing & deciding whether you wish to keep it.

I do all on dvd rw first, then decide whether I wish to keep or not at some later stage.

Alternatively, if your player supports divx/mpeg 4 then you could burn as that format or as a data disk with those files on if they are already in that format. Amazing how much you can fit on one dvd. Other advantage is no more conversion if already in that format (loss of quality each time you convert). Of course disadvantage is there's no index's or menus other than base menu similar to an mp3 disk.

re-reading the original post perhaps I misunderstood a point...

did you, the OP, mean that after you burned the disc you then played it via your PC and you had sound, but no sound on your DVD player?

the only thing I can think of that would cause this is if the DVD was in PAL format and your DVD player was set to NTSC (or vice versa)
