searches not continuing properly? i left a search going for 10 hours, and i got about 230 results in that first hour, then over the next 9 hours, nothing came back through. i understand that xolox researches multiple times, but there had to have been more than those 230 out there found over the next 9 hours as hosts were removed and added to the network. is it more advantageous for me to preform the research myself? in xolox 1.12 the searches would run all night id come back with 5000 results no problem, im just trying to get back to that point, and it seems like there may be an issue with it. ill probably get flamed at this point for talking about an already discussed issue, but oh well :D |
Nope, there is no issue. If you happen to have found a single result then began downloading it and it became queued or busy , then yes XoloX would continue ( periodically ) to attempt to find new hosts to complete *that* transfer. As far as leaving a search window open and it continuing to search for unlimited time - that would grossly pollute the gnutella network. XoloX does a few requires ( if you set it to ) over the span of an hour before timing out , then at that point you should do a research. |
