Is Xolox ment to be this slow???

I have used Xolox for around a week now and only managed to get 3 files. I request many files but they either lock on "Connecting" or "Searching", they arnt big files that im trying to get (mostly under 3mb). I am running Win 98 and I have a 56k modem? Can anyone help?
