Angry XLX Files

Hi all,

Well, I just formatted my PC, and before that, I transferred a few gigabites of incomplete XLX files (e.g. JOB-Segment1209-1.xlx) to another disk drive.

So, now I got my PC back on, and downloaded the latest 1.2 version of Xolox. Can I move all these Job segments XLX files to where I have the ver 1.2 save its incomplete files, and have those XLX files to resume downloading?

Please help, as there are quite a few GB of XLX files there...

Thanks,

M

umm did you happen to save any other files from xolox? like the file named resumeinfo.txt? thats the file that actually keeps track of all the segments your useing. otherwise they just sit there and take up space.

Red face OH no!!

Hello Xoloxian,

So that means all those XLX files are useless?

Damn!

I didn't backup any other files in Xolox but just those dinky XLX files!

Can there be any OTHER solutions?

Thanks,

M.

Yes, I have successfully done just what you describe.

1. Recover the file named "resumeinfo.txt" from the Xolox preogram folder. Copy the entire contents of this file (use Notepad if you want)
2. Paste the copied text into the "resumeinfo.txt" file of your new XoloX instllation, either at the start or end of the file.
3. In the combied file, replace the path information for the old folder where the incompletes were stored, with path to the new folder where incompletes are stored (it's a setting in XoloX), wherever it appears. Save the combined and updated file.
4. Make sure you put the incompletes themselves into the folder where the new XlX is set to store incompletes (same setting).
5. That's it. you're ready to recover wherever you left off.
