The Gnutella protocol and network was tweaked ;-)

Actually the more updates in a given amount of time the better. It means that the Xolox team is actually working at solving bugs and adding new features. As far as I can tell Xolox it constantly being improved. Try any other servent. If they are not being worked on all eh time then they will fall behind.

As for Morph, sometimes I find myself trying to be a decent ultrapeer myself, only to find that I am connected to nothing but Morph servents. They don't do anything but take up a connection slot. It is really anoying. I try and block that servent when possable.
