Good and Bad about XoloX On the whole, I like Xolox. It's easy enough to setup and use, it makes getting files easier by trying to download them from multiple sources, etc. But I like to check out the quality of a file before I share it with others. There are lots of crappy audio and video files out there. I prefer to download to a "holding area" and share the file after I've checked it out. You can also accidentally download a partial file, and I hate to compound that error by sharing it with others. The current Xolox design tries to be kind and share everything I have and everything I download with everyone. That's a little too "helpful" for me. I also don't like the fact that it throttles upload and download speeds to the same amount. My cable modem only handles about a 50K upload speed but can handle about 600K down. Xolos is limiting me to about 12K (don't know why). If BearShare had the ability to download a file from multiple sources it would hands-down win out over Xolox for me. If Xolox would stop sharing my downloads and separate upload and download bandwidth limits, it'd be my preferred client. |
"checking out the quality before sharing .." *cough* freeloaders *cough* you always can check it out after downloading. if it isnīt downloaded from you than, you can move it around on your harddisk. |
