Wink Poor upload speed.

This program is silly. I want to share all my upload bandwidth. The maximum seems to be twelve! Pathetic.

Yes. I noticed that there is a very low limit on the people who can upload from you. This is not fair play. If you expect to download from multiple sources then you should expect to share to multiple sources. Selfish behaviour is one thing but software that forces you to be selfish is contempible.

Default You folks are idiots...

Do this:

Run Xolox (you do actually use the program, right?)

Click Tools.

Click Preferences.

Select the 'Network' tab.

There's a drop-down menu for upload speed. The reason it's selectable is that xolox can choke your connection when you're doing other things-- so, if you want to use 100% of your upload, select "Max" from the settings drop-down-- NOT 12.

Click apply.

Viola.

I'm sharing about 60GB of "stuff" exclusively with Xolox, and it uses 100% of my 768kbit upload when I want it to... but it lets me crank it down to say, 12Kbytes/second when I'm playing Q3, so my pings don't go through the roof!

OK yes I am an idiot. But the max WAS at the top of the list ie before 1 where zero should be...so I have an excuse. What's yours?

I still can't share to more than 5 people at once, even with max set. Is the limit set by computer Mhz or by connection speed?
(300Mhz,500kb)

Angry Crap!

XoloX is crap!.... No where to set the number of downloads allowed. Therfore most of the bandwith is eatn from lammers that dont share. Would be nice to see the active users downloading and a max set of users and files that can be downloaded from you at once.

Thumbs down SPEEEEEEEEEEEEEDDDDD!!!!

You got to be kiding.

1> I don't give a rats *** how you set your settings, download speeds su*k! I have a 300k Modem and should be able to fly when downloading files and am lucky to get 2k or 3k. I have set to "MAX", which makes no difference.

2> No way to set the number of files that can be down loaded from you at once. This means that most of the bandwidth goes to lammers that don't share anyways.

3> No way to set the number of users that can be connected to you at once.

4> No way to see how many host you are connected to, just more bandwidth being eaten by XoloX!

5> Would be nice to see what files users are downloading from us so we can tell which are popular.

Come on XoloX...get yer sh*t together and fix some of this basic stuff so you'll have a good P2P... Get the advanced setttings evolved into your program and you MIGHT have something to be proud of then. But till then I recomend to other users of this product to DUMP IT! and keep on a looking!

Next time use "search", the solution has been discussed more than once!

The upload speed property sets upload speed, not (directly) the download speed. The number of segments you can be downloading at once is uploadspeed * 2 (at least set as a modem) and AFAIK the download speed for each segment is NOT limited. So if you are downloading slow, try downloading files with a higher score so you can get more segments at a time. (remember, the network is mosty modem users who can't even go 56 Kbps)

One way to set the number of files downloaded from you at once is to tell it you have a modem, you will only upload one file at a time. XoloX has never let a single user download more than one file at a time.

Set as a modem (not sure about broadband) XoloX makes and attempts to maintain exactly four connections with any combination of incoming and outgoing.

you can view your uploads, but you'll have to watch the program to see when people are downloading. Having a log file would be nice, but I dont' really care what people are downloading from me, it's all just bandwidth... unless you want to remove popuar files so fewer people download from you...

There are some bugs, and I tell them so when I find them, but try not to condemn them for their efforts. I think they should be very proud of what they have done so far, if you don't think so try making your own client. I reccommend XoloX to any broadband user, and would only tell someone to dump XoloX if for some reason the program crashes consistantly on their machine.
