I hear so many people giving out about the amount of porn etc. available on Xolox (Child Porn etc...)

What i want to know is dont Xolox Track What People Download??

Surely They Know who does what.....

And If They Dont Track...Why The Hell Not???

Just want to say that I don't download porn or anything even close to it, BUT I do download software that's, shall we say, under the table. So if XoloX starts tracking, or if I find out they already do, they can kiss my law breakin ***! Also don't forget that 99.99 percent of ALL mp3s you download are illegal as well. (According to U.S. copyright laws.)

XoloX uses the Gnutela protocol. That is, no centralised server and so no regulation on content.
XoloX does however provide a filter to exclude 'adult' content.
Using XoloX is like using a tool. XoloX is the entry point to the Gnutella network in this case.
As like with every tool you can use it for the good or the bad. It's every users own responsibility and common sense to XoloX in the way they think is appropiate.

PS: Some more background information on gnutella. Only gnutella searching is anonymous, downloading/uploading is not... this is P2P, peer to peer: While you download/upload stuff your IP is stored in the TCP/IP header... other gnutella servants have a upload logfile (e.g. Bearshare), so at least those users can see what is downloaded by whom (IP) and when.
PPS: Downloading MP3s is not illegal in my country (yet), but think about supporting your favourit artists by buying their CDs,

What about a users ISP? Can They Not see That the user is Downlaoding Mp3's, Software Etc..?

Sure, this is internet and everyone can sniff an unencrypted data stream (like gnutella is), everyone who is between you and your opponent peer (your ISP and many routers are).

a) Gnutella P2P filetransfar should be encrypted (Queries/Hits not), https over http would be possible with gnutella protocoll.
b) Swarming files should be implemented to spread content, random 500 KB partials of most requested files would be fine even for modem users.

Is that its up to The ISP's To catch those downloading "illegal" Stuff...Not The Gnutella Client Manufacturers. That must be how people get busted for downloading porn etc. from the net
