If you just got a new computer, it must have come with a user's manual in hardcopy or on one of the CDs. And if it came with a CD-RW drive, it MUST have CD-RW software installed, too.

But there's another way: Look through your Desktop icons or Start/Programs and search for a program (Adaptec Easy CD-Creator is one of the major ones) that you use with your CD-RW...you need a CD-bruning program to put your music files onto a blank CD-R disc (I hardly EVER use CD-RWs...just stick to CD'Rs for now...look for them in bulk on sale at BestBuy, Comp-USA, Office Max, CurcuitCity, etc...check Sunday's newspaper for the computer store flyers). Open the CD-RW program and click on the Help menu item at the top...read through the topics and it wll tell you how to use that particular program.

Basically, you don't need to transfer your MP3 files out of whatever folder they are in. you just open your CD program and tell it where to look for your MP3 files...they will then appear. Most CD-burning programs I have used have a "split screen" format: either half a windows on one side (vertically) and half on the other or, they split the windows horizontally.

All you have to do -- in most CD-burning programs -- is "drag and drop" the MP3 file from one split screen (take from) of the progam to the other screen (put into). As you add files, a bar will move across the bottom showing you how many MB (for a Data CD) or minutes (for a Audio CD) you have left. Onece you do it, you'll get the hang of it. You don't REALLY move the files there, they are just copied, so all of them are still in your original folder after the CD is done.

If you do NOT have a CD-burning program -- which is hard to believe on a new computer with a CD-RW drive) then look for Nero 5.5.0.4 (latest version) or get NTI CD-Maker Pro. Nero is harder to use in that it is more sophisticated...NTI is easier. There are quite a few others, too. You probably have Apaptec Easy CD-Creator 5.0 (but 4.0 was less buggy and many people think is better than 5.0).

Good luck

Alvast bedankt, hartelijke groet Frans Delmee(53)
