Hi!

May be a re-installation of ZAP helps...

Never had these problems...

I have a strange ZA problem, it tells me that the number of MB being downloaded is huge and a lot faster than the available bandwidth. But on the xolox transfers screen there is rarely any activity.

So ZA tells me Ive uploaded around 900Mb via xolox and it's telling me noone is doing anything?

Question Zone alarm does slow resources.

I have no Idea why it does that...Reading these post I just shut zone alarm off to see if it really is zone alarm doing it. Everything is going smooth right now. But I have a 800MHz computer and a 350 Mhz computer and they both did the low resource thing. Both computers had a 300+ RAM so I know it is the program. Anyway hope that helps with your troubleshooting of (Programmers of XoloX) fixing this annoying bug.

Hi,

Gnutella clients have a lot of search traffic!

900Mb? One day, one week or one month?

Its more than a day - no panic!

If its only one day... this is a lot for search traffic!

Lightbulb

I had the same problem with xolox freezing up, using all the system resources. I installed it and could never get it to work.
I have a 300 Mhz and 64 MB RAM with Zonealarm - so low power PC.

I uninstalled xolox and reinstalled it in a separate partition of my
hard drive (luckily (or not) my hard drive recently crashed and I had to install a new one). In that partition I also put my MP3s etc - all files to be shared. So the partiton only has xolox and files to be shared. I started sharing limited numbers of files, and am incresing the number. Zonealarm is still active and I have been able to download music at over 200 kb/sec (cable). I think the secret is keeping xolox away from all other files on the hardrive that are not going to be shared.

Hi!

It doesn´t matter where you save your files...

Do you use Wi*** or Win98 (I think so!), when this is no problem of xolox its a windows problem!

I used Win98se with a 500Mhz and 64Mb ram, and least three times a day I have to reboot my system...

I suggest you at least 128Mb ram with windows... (ram is very cheap actually!).

iv been downloading now for a +30 hours one big file trough XoloX. my ZA indicates ~4000MB sent and ~1000MB received. im not sharing any files at the moment (yea yea, im on 128ISDN also theres been almost 400 hits to ZA's "internet alerts", since i started XoloX.

at the same time ISDN indicates ~1G sent, 1G received.

and btw. now download has jumped from 96% to 64%... what the hell that means??

XoloX always shares your /download directory and anyone else with XoloX can grab segments of files you are currently downloading. So if you have downloaded files, or are downloading files, then you are sharing. Some of your upload traffic may also be from sending XoloX updates out to members who got the program from download.com, as 1.12 isn't there yet if I remember corrently. (1.11 instead)

To see what you are uploading make sure to check "My uploads visible" in the tools menu and sit around staring at the downloads page... as any uploads that finish dissapear right away from the list, and no logs are kept as to what's been sent.
