Memory leak

What’s the best program to use, in order to patch the memory leak Xolox has?

Moak November 20th, 2001 03:55 AM

How did you come to the conclusion that Xolox has memory leaks? Any investigations/posts I missed? *curious*

Sedulus November 20th, 2001 04:55 AM

I've had two access violations so far. I think using any MemTurbo or whatever is approaching the problem from the wrong side.

Moak November 20th, 2001 08:03 AM

I wonder which is "the problem" you are currently talking about, can someone help me please?

Morgwen November 20th, 2001 08:39 AM

Sure Moak! :)

Morgwen,
sorry didn't get it, where is the description about a memory leak?

Morgwen November 20th, 2001 09:03 AM

Hi Moak!

Ask this makrywol!

But this is the thread he metioned this the first time!

I don´t see a problem here, too!

You ask for the link! :)

Some people have been referring to the large amount of RAM Xolox uses as a memory leak. I have been curious as to how many of Xolox users need a program to free RAM, in order to prevent slowdowns. And I wanted to find out which program they preferred.

= The heap management of Win9x/ME is leaking.

heap management

This problem occurs with Win 2k as well. System is a p2 333, 256meg of pc133 ram, and Xolox hangs up whenever, after fresh boot, fresh defrag and I get the odd access violation as well!
Tried a few things that had been suggested but still hangs.

Win XP Pro

I have had the same problems of Xolox running in win XP. It will run for awhile but the whole system will start to sllloooww down...
I'm running a K2-400 with 256 Ram

Aeroe November 26th, 2001 02:22 PM

it uses too much ram especially when downloading 3 or more files, dunno about the memory leak...
any fix to lessen the strain would be nice.

In my case Access Violations happens when three or more are uploading partial files from me. Otherwise I have to reset Xolox from time to time but I think that program's netcode (when it is refreshing network) causes those hang-ups - not my lack of memory (396Mb).
