Bearshare is King!! Oh, and I'm new.

Well, I love Bearshare but recently I just can't seem to get the darn thing to connect, so I figure I'd come on over and see what's up with this place and check out all the Gnutella programs and other stuff going on here.

BTW we do not recommend using any version of Bearshare beyond version 5. Ideally use this version: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/193742-post1.html (Bearshare 5 beta with extra abilities)

I've tried that version and it only connects sometimes. I just tried it and it got some dismal search results and speed. I'm going to try Phex now. Hopefully, that will be good enough.

you need to let any Gnutella p2p program (client) get well connected...it takes a while for it to become 'enmeshed' within the network, and after that time search results increase...

try the expired beta in the BearShare has been sabotaged thread and force it into UP mode...the only negative to forced UP mode is that I find you become a more attractive target to the paid henchmen of the RIAA/MPAA and tend to get DDOS'd..
