thats ok , pitty LW 5 dont have skins sorry i have not got back to you my computer got virused up BIG time from facebook ( the computer shop man says facebook has been hacked and everyone using norton 360 has been getting virus he even showed me 10 computers that were buggered from facebook ) Norton 360 didnt find any virus's but i know they are there cause of error after error keeps poping up and when i first got the computer bout 4 weeks ago it would load windows XP in bout 10 seconds now it take 10 mins!!! Well safe to say norton dont do SH*T what a waste of money ( $250 AUD!!!! ) So my computer is in the shop should be fixed sometime today well can only hope might be another reason why LW was playing up . I have NEVER got virus from LW BUT some torrents i have got ( GAMES ) have had virus but norton picked them up . Anyone see the news??? Bout the illegal Downloads? THEY think they can stop us ( LW , Utorrent , and other p2p users ) what they say will happen is if your found to be downloading 'illegal' music/movies you will get a letter in the mail 3 of them and they will kill your internet connection!! SO THEY THINK! Any way i dont think it will work .....
Could just be for Australian users im not sure i was half asleep ! it was on the 6am news ! just got up at that time nad just getting into my coffee !! Can anyone help me choose a new anti virus?? Dont care if i got to pay for it.

Facebook, do you know how many Viruses that website supports? Nearly EVERY advertisement leads to an attack/scam site, it get's me angry.

Well a Anti Virus can only do so much, the rest is left to human awareness and common sense on what not to d'load, PRO Anti virus or not, you can still catch one.

haha that made me laugh, it really did. Do you know how many people download illegally? HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS. They;re going to cut off that many people's internet. This is will lead to a GORILLA RIOT, and i WILL be there. Lol.

I strongly recommend Avira Antivir, it has very low memory usage and the interface is sweet: Free antivirus - Avira AntiVir

Default Sharing Your Computer with the kids

marcusj

Being a Father myself, I do know where you are coming from because 2 or 3 years ago I suffered the same fate as you , i.e. one of my kids downloaded a virus/trojan onto my PC and Norton AV did not spot it.

And likewise, I had to have a complete reformat and re-install done but I also took the opportunity to do some upgrade work as well.

Anyway, the only way to insure that your PC remains virus free is to buy your kids their own PC. And since my lads got their own PCs my machine has been virus free (and as a precaution, I changed the password on it so they couldn't use it behind my back).

So, if and when you can, you should have a PC for you and the wife and one for the kids.

You know, there is no such thing as a (virus free) "family" computer.

Well i came across something very interesting the other day.
There are these "Kiddy browsers", basically web browsers just for children. Nearly everysite is blocked unless YOU, the password holder, unlock it.
It was a very useful tool for my little sister, but to be honest the interface is WAY to funky.
I think it's for kids around the age of about 6-9 years. Very Disney-Channely

Hi again
got most the stuff i have lost still downloading them anyway when i got this new computer i gave the 8 year old one to the kids for games and homework no internet on it . When they need the net its for homework only and i or my wife watches them but we all know that wont stop the virus .
I was given a copy of KASPERSKY INTERNET SECURITY 2009 by one of my friends now i have got heaps of games for the kids on an external HDD now i scaned that HDD with norton and it was clean but yesterday i scaned it with that kaspersky and it found 2 virus in the gameS it fixed them and game still works ......
YES I KNOW I SHOULD HAVE BACKED UP MY STUFF ON THE EXTERNAL HDD..... I HAVE LEARNT MY LEASON
And if the kids want something downloaded they have to ask me and i do it that way if anything go wrong its not the kids fault and stops fights too i hate fighting with the kids ...

anyway i think ill go find the last couple things i need ill be back
one more thing that OUTSIDE THE HOUSE is that a thread or a joke
