Heres the problem. I bought limewire pro ver4.14.10 two years ago. I went to prison. now im home and i can no longer access my old email account (closed due to inactivity,& nolonger availible) i want to buy new verison but can"t find anywhere to edit my account info to new email to recieve download. Sorry if this sounds like dumb question but not computer smart, not even sure i can find my way back to this fourm for any replys. *email address removed for your protection*. if any one can help. i"ll do my best to get back to this fourm to check for reply, but like i said not too good with this. Please help- fustrated. Thank you for your time.

The only official site for buying Pro is Official Website & Free Download - Lime Wire
You're only able to download Pro versions while your benefits are current (depending on whether you buy Pro for 6 or 12 months)

The official site has no facility for editing your email details - you just buy Pro & enter your current email addy in the purchase details. Your email address will stay in the database until your Pro benefits expire.

The current version of LW is 5.4.6. You'll find it's really different to LW 4 versions. I'd suggest that you try the free basic LW first, to see whether you like it

If you do want to buy Pro again then go to the first link above & click on Product Features... now you'll see the option to buy Pro for 6 or 12 months. Sometimes there's the option for a one-off download (only able to download the installer once & no email support) but that doesn't seem to be there at the moment.

Thank you birdy,a solution so easy. It worked just fine. I'm not seeing file sizes or types on the new version, are they not there anymore? You were right about how much its changed, trial & error for a while i guess. I have 3,768 music files ( most complete albums )that i share if youd like to browse me. Except i cant figure out how to get it to show me my host address. Thanks for your time.

When you search, are you using classic or list view?

If you switch to classic view (see the image below) > right click on the column header > tick 'size' & 'extension', you'll see file size & file type in search results


Maybe have a read of the FAQ & User Guide for LW 5... there are probably going to be heaps of things about LW 5 that spin you out for a while

There's no Direct Connect any more... it's been replaced by a Friends 'feature' lol. So there's no need to find your IP addy or listening port any more. Instead your friends will have to sign into Jabber, LiveJournal or gmail & then you add them to your Friends list. Then in theory they can download from you when you're both online. The User Guide has more info.

And IP addys have been replaced by words. There's some info about that also in the UG.
