vlc and windows media player - playing the video file in VLC the file comes up saying use windows media player

[help me !!]

i have downloaded some films and i tryed playing them in my vlc player but it does not come up with the film it comes up saying use windows meadia player so i try that and it dont work can some one help cause it pi**ing me off

Right-click the file in question & choose Open With .. choose VLC & click option to always use VLC to open with.

If the video still keeps playing up .. chances are it's a dud .. possibly one with some kind of link to a dangerous website or virus inside.
VLC will not respond to URL linked DRM or similar, however WMP will unfortunately.

I would however recommend you use your security software to check the file for viruses, adware, spyware, etc.

i do use vlc all the time. i no theres no viruses on them it just pissing me off cause most of the films i download these days come up saying use wmp.
the web site i use most of the time is Torrent Reactor - The most active torrents on the web do you think it would be a gd idea to try a new site out if so any one you would recommend.
