Hola Everyone, hopefully an easy question about advanced filter Hey everyone, Ive actually been using Limewire for quiet a while and I must say, its one of my favorite p2p programs. I apologize if the answer is already in these forums but i have been searching and i cant find it. When doing the advanced filtering, is there a way to set it to always have the same filters? I see ways to put words to block but i find myself always doing the advanced filtering manually because it helps weed out potential viruses and such. Once again, if its been posted please do forgive me but i have been digging for a bit and couldnt find anything specific to this. thanks again, kb |

Hi kb, By 'advanced filtering' do you mean refining which results show on your search results page (like extension, bitrate, file size etc)? AFAIK those are saved, but you'll still need to select a category (like audio, video etc) each time, in order for those columns to show. Apart from adding words to LW's filters (I guess you mean tools > options > search > filter keywords), you can add file extensions that are known for spam or viruses... like .wma, .wmv, .mov, .au, .exe, .rar, .zip. More info about which extensions are worth filtering & other tips here: How to find music After adding a keyword or extension, remember to click ok & then also click ok again on the main options page to save a change. |

Unfortunately the advanced search filter is reset for each individual search. There is no method to keep these search filter settings permanent. Maybe one day LW will add an option to keep identical search filter settings in the same way you can set your default search type to Audio or video, etc. One possible downside to keeping these settings might be that if the person accidentally sets their search filters settings too high & then they will find much more limited search results showing & may get confused about this. (example: file size set to 100 MB for audio search.) |
